Fiction
  1. The Illuminati Larry Burkett
Only three and a half stars? NO WAY!!! This is a great book. Computers, government takeover, twisted plots, anti computers and of course, The Illuminati. Great book. I highly suggest you check it out. You won't be disappointed.
  2. John Grisham
  3. Left Behind Tim LaHaye
You've heard about it. This is a rapture story. It starts right out with the Rapture. (I can't give your the day or the hour, but this might be the season!) I believe in the Rapture, by the way. This is Book 1. These books are especially timely in light of September 11, 2001!
  4. The Chronicles of Narnia (boxed set) C. S. Lewis Do I need to say anything? Five stars. Great books for your kids, yourself, your grandmother, your sister, your boss, or anyone else you can think of. But he has this, ah, this British way of writing.
  5. This Present Darkness/Piercing the Darkness, Boxed set Frank Peretti
Wow!!! What can I say? These are great. Everything you've wanted to know about angels and the struggle between the forces of good and evil. I really think this is a good representation of how the spiritual realm really is. You gotta read these. Five Stars!!!!!
  6. Zion Covenant -- Bodie Thoene
  7. A Daughter of Zion Bodie Thoene's Zion Chronicles
These are FIVE STAR BOOKS. This is the first in a series of five. A great novel telling about the establishment of the nation of Israel in May of 1948. It begins in December, 1947 and chronicles the struggles that the Jewish people encountered to reestablish their country in the land promised to them by God, through their father Abraham.
  8. Zion Legacy -- Bodie and Brock Thoene They tell of the story of the birth of the nation of Israel. I have a strong affinity for this country. Jacob is my middle name. In the bible, Jacob's name was changed to Israel. He's the name sake for the nation of Israel. Israel was created on May 14, 1948. I was born on May 18, 1948. No doubt you can see my interest! P. S. I'm a Christian, too!
  9. A. D. Chronicles Series -- Bodie and Brock Thoene
  10. Space Trilogy A boxed set by C. S. Lewis Alien abduction, ransom, space ships, good triumphing over evil. Luke Skywalker watch out.
  11. The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoyevsky His last novel and considered by some, to be his best. Four young men, murder their father, the trial which follows and the search for God and the measure of faith that He gives each of us.

  1. Faith: A Holiday Album Kenny G - Hey, I play saxophone too!
  2. In the Blink of an Eye: FBI Investigation of TWA Flight 800 by Pat Milton - The book mentioned on the Rush Limbaugh radio program. Reviewers give it from three to five stars. Rush likes it!!!
  3. The Lion's Game by Nelson Demille - A spy-thriller novel involving the CIA, FBI and Muammar Qaddafi
  4. Timeline by Michael Creighton - Stuff for us geeks, but be afraid. Be very afraid as you travel back in time and enter the Chapel of Green Death.
  5. The Bear and the Dragon Tom Clancy - When interviewed about this book and it was suggested that this looked like a Rush Limbaugh script. The interviewer then went on and asked if Mr. Clancy was too conservative. Can you be too conservative?
Slovenia
  1. Of Whom the World was not Worthy by Marie Chapian
In the midst of this living hell, Jakob, Jozeca and other believers clung to God and prayed for both friend and foe. The enemies of their beloved homeland could burn their cities and towns, but they could not destroy their souls or quench their indomitable spirits. The struggles in Yugoslavia during World War II.
  2. English-Slovene/Slovene-English Modern Dictionary by Dasa Komac
Sample pages of the book are available for your inspection.
  3. Basic Reference Grammar of Slovene by William Derbyshire
A Basic Reference Grammar of the Slovenian language aims to provide a basic reference grammar for the Slovenian language. It is heavy on grammatical forms with numerous tables, side-notes explaning exceptions and irregularities. Treatment of more complex concepts, such as verbal mood and aspects, is lighter. A great companion book to Dasa Komac's Modern Dictionary above.
  4. Lonely Planet Slovenia (2nd Edition) by Steve Fallon -- Lotsa stars on this one.
  5. Colloquial Slovene: A Complete Language Course by Andrea Albretti -- I just ordered this one in August, 2000. It's a course with a book and tapes covering various typical situations you might encounter. It comes with grammar and vocabulary that help you to learn situations you might face in Slovenia. Also from Andrea is Slovene Complete Course: A Complete Course for Beginners (Teach Yourself). My friends from Slovenia gave me this. :-)
  6. Slovene : A Comprehensive Grammar (Routledge Grammars) by Peter Herrity
This textbook is a complete reference guide to the contemporary language. This is the first comprehensive grammar of the language to be published in English, and is an ideal reference source for learners and users of the Slovenian language at every level: independent learners, university and college students, and professional linguists. This volume is systematically organized to enable students to find information quickly and easily, and to provide a thorough understanding of Slovene grammar.
  7. Lonely Planet Slovenia (2nd Edition) by Steve Fallon -- Lotsa stars on this one.
  8. Lonely Planet Rocky Mountains (2nd Edition) by Nicko Goncharoff et. al. -- You'd probably like to tell me that the Rocky Mountains have nothing to do with Slovenia, huh? Well, I know something that you don't know!!! It comes highly praised by two special people who visited me from Slovenia.
History
  1. Of Plymouth Plantation: 1620-1647 by William Bradford (Four Stars)
Read about the history of the Pilgrims as you didn't learn it in school. For example, the first year, the crops were divided equally among the people no matter how much they worked. (Sound anything like Communism to you?) It failed miserably. Then, Bradford decided to give each family their own land. They could decide what to produce, how much to charge for it, etc. It was a great success. More crops were produced than in the earlier years. People made a profit and were able to pay off their loans to England. (And people put down supply side economics!)
  2. One Night in a Bad Inn By Christy Leskovar. (I know this lady.)
A fun way to learn Montana history and world history. Where you get a murder mystery, a fun story, and it's all true.
Education
  1. Scholarship Book 2001 by David Cassidy --The Complete Guide to Private Sector Scholarships, Grants and Loans for the Undergraduate.

Practical Stuff
  1. Leasing Lessons for Smart Shoppers by Mark Eskeldson Drawing from his twenty years plus of experience, he shows you the pros & cons / goods & bads of leasing. What makes them good or bad.
  2. Patent It Yourself by David Pressman -- He guides you through the patent process. He "suggests" that you don't buy into the patent processing services. He says that very few inventors make more through that process than they spend with the processing firms.
  3. What Car Dealers Don't Want you to Know by Mark Eskeldson He tells it like it is. What to look for when you buy a car. He draws from his experience and information from many who have gotten "the bad deal!"
  4. What Car Mechanics Don't Want you to Know by Mark Eskeldson An experienced mechanic tells you what to look for: how to get free repairs, how to detect fraud, scams and what to look for in a good mechanic.
