   Hello,
We have learned in a round about way that you have been looking for
ancestral roots in The Glens of Antrim. Please make contact with us as we
believe that we have information on O'Neills in Knock-na-Carry.

The information I have on my nearest Ireland relative is John O'Neill.
The data I have says he was born in June 1848 to Charles and Nellie
McCormick O'Neill. He came to America in 1871 and married Mary Clemens,
who was also born in County Antrim about 1850. Her parents were Patrick
and Mary Rose (Clark) Clemens. I have several different spellings.
Mary's cousin is supposed to be Samuel Clemmens according to family
 TRADITIONS!!!

Have a look at the community website on WWW.antrim-glens.demon.co.uk.
We will pass information to you when we have established contact.

I will check out your page. I'm really new at this genealogy work.
Most of the web pages I've looked at haven't made much sense to me.
Somewhere, I did find a big O'Neill page. It said formerly we were a
long line of kings!!! Is that correct?

The little amount of O'Neill information I do have can be found on my
Wagner-O'Neill history page. In case I type it incorrectly, you can
access it off my home page provided in my signature file below. Scroll
down to the Wagner-O'Neill History link. The direct link is:

Thank you for taking the time to write.

 Hello again Terry,
The local historian Mr Malachy Mc Sparran has been doing a
little research and sent the following information.

 Quote

Charles o Neill came from the townland of Blackstone in the district
known as The Braid near Ballymena.
He married Ellen Mc Cormick, date unknown. (Nellie I believe is short
for Ellen). She was probably a native of Cushendun.
Charles O'Neill was employed as a gamekeeper on the White Estate.
During this time he lived in the townland of Barmeen Cushendun.
The family included John, born June 1848, who emigrated to America.
Arthur, who died 21st August 1881, aged 24
Robert, born about 1857, married to Christine Cunning from Glenshesk, and
 emigrated to America in 1888.
 Margaret who died August 1906
Charles himself died 10th Feb 1893 aged 70 and his wife Ellen died 15th
May 1013 AGED 77.<----I think this is 1913
Around 1885 the family moved to the townland of Clady.
Robert, before his emigration lived in the townland of Turnamona.

I hope that this information is of help to you. If you have any
questions I'll pass them back to Malachy.
May I wish you a Happy Christmas.

 Regards,

 John Mc Goran
